Bianca & Gordon’s wedding at 10 Bompass Hotel
Bianca & Gordon have a beautiful story to tell of how they met. He literally asked the Lord to provide him with a sign of who his wife would be and Bianca was the one. Their relationship is based on a deep rooted love for each other and for God. It was a wonderful event to be part of.
As we left the church to go to Le Chatelat Guesthouse where we shot the couple session, a bee got trapped in Bianca’s veil. Though Bianca understandably wanted the bee to go on its merry way, I wondered what the symbolism was (weird to some, but I love symbolism and the deeper meaning in the occurrences of our daily lives). And what better occurrence than a wedding! This is what I found: Bees are symbolic of industry, creative activity and wealth, all associated with honey. In Greek mythology bees derived their name from Hymeno, the ‘god of marriage’, a handsome youth whose name was invoked in wedding songs. Wearing a wreath, he presided at marriage feasts. Now is that a good omen of what?!
The reception was at 10 Bompas Hotel – their food is exceptional!
