Sonia & Rowan at ‘Die Akker’

I always admire people who has a talent for design. I appreciate good design, especially when it comes to weddings. Sonia definitely has that flair because her and Rowan’s wedding was a wonderful example of good planning and good design. The colours she chose for their beautiful wedding at Die Akker Country Venue complimented the setting to a tee. Who would have thought that purple would go so well with olive green? And the textures and finishes of the venue created the perfect backdrop to french romance and old world charm.

I can’t stress enough how important the setting is in order to create beautiful imagery. And because wedding photography is something you are investing in, surely it is worth the effort to create the mood by choosing the right setting complimented by beautiful decor? Even the bridal suite was magic – white washed walls and loads of natural light. Fantastic for bridal portraits! And then there was the church – beautiful afternoon sunlight enveloping the couple as they exchanged vows. And what a handsome couple they are!

Well done Sonia & Rowan. You made it so easy for me to photograph you! May the happiness that was evident on your wedding day last you a lifetime.

Anelda & Andre’s Valentine’s shoot

Anelda loves reading my blog. In fact, she is probably my greatest supporter when it comes to leaving comments on the blog and reading it on a daily basis. So I knew that herself and Andre were going to put in a bit more thought in planning their pre-wedding shoot. And I wasn’t disappointed. Their Valentine’s day E-session turned out beautifully despite the early threat of rain. They arrived with fun props that made for made for wonderfully unique shots without being cheesy. (If I haven’t ever mentioned it before on this blog, I have to do it now: please don’t request me to take photos of you with an old suitcase or the words “just married” sprayed in the back of your wedding car) ;-)

I loved doing the shoot, thank you guys! Anelda & Andre are getting married in April at Cussonia Crest.

Jateen & Preeya’s beautiful wedding

Jateen & Preeya’s wedding was something magnificent. Bold colours, interesting people, wonderful food – this wedding had it all. I can never get enough of the pretty Sari’s one sees at Indian weddings, and everyone so unique from the most exquisite material (there were 400 guests at the wedding so you can imagine). Preeya picked her Sari personally when she and Jateen traveled India last year. It was a garment that only the photos can describe. She was a vision in it.

There were so many wonderful moments throughout the 2 hour ceremony, I really struggled to pick some for the blog. I also post a few photos from the post wedding reception that was held at Jateen’s house the day after the wedding.

Thank you again for choosing me to share this wonderful day with you. May your marriage be blessed with happiness and love. Namaste!
