Anel & Francois Pre-wedding shoot
What can I say? I just have the THE coolest clients. We did Anel & Francois’ pre-wedding shoot on Sunday at the botanical gardens. I thought Anel’s torn jeans just immediately puts her in the cool catergory. And so does Francois’ scar showing through his short hair – don’t you think it adds so much character? It was the first time I have met them but I warmed up to them immediately. They are totally relaxed with each other and willing to try almost everything.
I like asking the guys to jump off stuff while the woman should look on, seemingly disinterested, even mildly irritated. I have never had a girl getting the expression right as perfectly as do Anel in that particular image – what do you think?

Leanne & Willem Pre-wedding shoot
Leanne and Willem are a totally RAD couple. I had so much fun doing their pre-wedding shoot on Saturday at Helderfontein Estates in Glenferness, Midrand. It was probably the longest pre-shoot I have done to date, I just enjoyed it so much I didn’t even notice the time. They were willing to try anything I suggested and it was very clear to me that they take their wedding photography seriously, which is just the way I love it. Leanne is beautiful in a natural tomboyish way. They both have beautiful eyes. They are super excited about getting married.
Leanne and Willem are tying the knot in September at Lezar Opstal, Heildelberg.
Ilse & Justin at Die Akker
Ilse & Justin had their beautiful wedding at one of my favourite venues to photograph – Die Akker. Something about the plastering and colours of the walls makes it very picture-friendly. Not to mention Marietjie and her team who is exceptionally professional and effective at creating the perfect event.
Ilse looked radiant in a beautiful dress and a tiara that has been worn by brides in their family for 4 generations. The couple shoot was fun, it was overcast and although we didn’t get the sunset we were hoping for, it was the ideal conditions to get stunning images.
