Avianto wedding – Tracey and Dale

Tracey and Dale’s wedding at Avianto was a really stunning celebration of the coming together of two beautiful people and their families. When Dale asked Tracey to marry him it wasn’t going to be just another proposal. No Sir! Dale is a “go big or go home” type of guy. The proposal was done in gung-ho pirate style. Dale spent hours making a chest and collecting coins and other beautiful “treasure” to put in the chest to accompany the hand-written proposal. Then he went to the trouble of actually burying the chest on the beach in Ballito, lost it and found it again, luckily! Tracey was of course swept off her feet by Captain Dale and all his pirate paraphernalia and the rest like they say, is history.

The wedding was aptly themed with a pirate flair and I thought Tracey’s garter was the cutest I have EVER seen! Dale just couldn’t get enough of his gorgeous bride and was totally smitten! And he has the wonderful ability to make Tracey laugh… a lot!

Their beautiful children were there to celebrate the uniting of two families and I think you will agree that this is one handsome family! It was just one amazingly wonderful wedding to capture on film, I felt so blessed to have been there to share it with them.

And thank you so much to my dear friend Corinna Tannian for being my second shooter on the day! You are the wind beneath my wings ;)

Oakfield wedding – Wendy and Dean

It was the first day of Spring and the blossoms were everywhere! After such a long and harsh winter it was an absolutely gorgeous day to have a wedding. And Wendy and Dean’s was out of this world!

I adored the decor, it was right up my alley. Eve from Splendid Affairs did an amazing job with that! Everything was just perfect and beautifully planned. Wendy looked like a vision in her beautiful dress, she is one of the most spontaneous delightful people I have ever met.

Oakfield is just such a gorgeous wedding venue, and one that has eluded me for some reason. I was delighted with every little detail of it, the beautiful chapel and the Summer House with its glass panes created the most beautiful light, to die for!

Before we knew it the sun had set and there was still sooo much I wanted to do and spots I was eager to use! Next time.

Wendy and Dean, you are two remarkable people and I was absolutely blessed to have had the honor to capture your special memories. I hope you have a long and happy life together!

Thank you to Lerika de Vaal who was my second shooter on the day.

Beautiful pre-shoot with Tracey and Dale

Tracey and Dale is getting married this weekend and we did their last minute e-shoot at their lovely complex in Fourways. Something that was quite evident about these two is their ability to make one another laugh. I think humor is such an essential ingredient in any relationship and I therefore really enjoyed spending a while with them and witnessing this dynamic.

I am looking so forward to be there on your special day! See you Friday.

Wendy and Dean’s e-shoot at Irene

I just absolutely love it when a couple goes to the trouble of giving me a wedding invitation as well. It really makes me feel special, even though I will be there to do a job, it is such a nice touch to be included as part of the guests. Thank you! I took a few pics of the invitation to show you how sweet it looks.

Wendy and Dean are such a delightful pair. They go together like strawberries and cream. We had an awesome pre-wedding shoot at Irene Farm last weekend and it was fun from the word go. These two are getting married in a few days time and I can’t wait to be there to capture their special day.

Fun picnic shoot with Monique & Henry

Monique & Henry is a fun-loving couple that just adores each other. Theirs was the first pre-wedding shoot I did for the new season. These cuties are getting married in October, can’t wait to share their special day.

EXPECTING PARENTS: JACO & KARI

You might remember this beautiful couple from theirwedding I shot last year. I adore Jaco and Kari, they are perfectly in love and it shows. And I was very excited to get the news earlier this year that Kari was pregnant with a little girl. Kari was positively radiant and well, Jaco was as proud as can be.

Jaco and Kari’s beautiful little bundle, Lea was born last week. Congratulations you two! I wish you joy and parental bliss!

Matric Year Portraits – Gorgeous Kathryn

I asked my gorgeous stepdaughter, Kathryn if I could do a photo shoot with her while she was visiting with us from Durban these school holidays. I think it is a very good idea for young adults to have their photos taken in their final year of school. Even though Kathryn will only be in Matric next year, she willingly agreed to play model for me. Unfortunately it was freezing outside, so we could not do the outdoor shoot that would normally form part of a shoot like this.

The idea of having a portrait session in your matric year came from the American tradition of having your photo taken to include in the senior yearbook containing photos of each and every pupil of that year’s senior class. It is also loads of fun to have prints to hand out to all of your friends for them to remember you by (you might not see them in a few years, and most of them never again), a little keepsake for all of your buddies. And because this is how everyone will remember you, of course you want them to look good, not so?

So apart from the beautiful photos you will have from the night of your matric farewell, it is great fun to have a more informal session at a venue of your choice with images that will tell a story of who you were at the age of 17 or 18. Contact me today to book your matric portrait session, I am looking forward to making you shine!

Gold Reef City – Natasha & Billy’s pre-wedding shoot

We had Natasha and Billy’s pre-wedding session just 3 days before their wedding in March since they live in London and only arrived a few days prior to the big event. I therefore didn’t had the opportunity to post their session then. Now that it is winter and we are in between wedding seasons I have the time to post a few shoots that haven’t made it onto the blog yet.

The shoot was at Gold Reef City and though a lot of the rides were not operational that early in the morning we still had a lot of fun and plenty of props to work with. Hope you enjoy these.
